At the core of its business is the ability of NAS to secure an agreement between a beneficiary and a liable party by using a guaranty instrument. This is often the last missing item preventing a financial transaction from reaching successful conclusion. NAS agrees to assume project liability if the obligated party is not able to fulfill its responsibilities. In addition, 
NAS provides consulting services for the structuring and management of financial risks.

NAS restricts itself primarily to short and mid-term agreements. For accepting the risk of liability, premiums of usually two to five percent of the guaranty sum (face value) per annum are charged.

NAS treats each project individually and always conducts an extensive initial due diligence review which usually takes between two weeks and two months. The fundamental requirement for any commitment of NAS is that the project complies with the client’s professional qualifications and that it is related to the client’s previously conducted business. In addition, NAS requires assets as security for the duration of its joint liability. These may be derived from the assets utilized in the project under consideration.

During the guaranty period, NAS inspects and monitors the progress of the contractual performance on previously specified dates. These milestones provide both control of compliance with the contract and the use of funds.
